Saphenous Nerve Injury after Vein Stripping

Dr. Flu and colleagues at the Department of Vascular Surgery, HagaHospital, The Hague, The Netherlands have prospectively investigated the incidence of saphenous nerve injury following total stripping of the great saphenous vein.

The authors found that the overall incidence of postoperative sensory neurologic deficits was 6% at 6-week follow-up and both 3% at 3-month follow-up.
